The 'Dreams Come True With Zain' campaign is the most innovative CSR initiative and is structured to allow people from all walks of life to directly seek help from the company to literally make their dreams for the community come true. Participants are invited to submit a short summary of their dream, why and where they need help in making it a reality and how it relates to the company's three CSR areas, Youth Development and Empowerment, Supporting People with Special Needs and Education. Twenty-year old University student Mohammed Al Orayed has been selected the first Zain Dream winner by the independent judging panel of the telecoms company's innovative "Dreams come true with Zain" initiative for April 2008. Along that the judges have chosen the young Bahraini and his dream to set up a music studio especially for recording Bahrain's rich heritage of folkloric music and other activities related to the field of music. “The campaign focuses around three key areas that have always been at the heart of our Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives – youth empowerment through education, sports and a healthy lifestyle and caring for individuals with special needs. We would like to thank the judges for their given efforts and time, without them it would not have been possible to make this campaign and dreams of a success”, said Zain (Bahrain) General Manager Mohammed Zain-Al Abedeen Added Corporate Communications Manager Samya Hussein,"We received plenty of applications for the initiative. The company congratulates Mohammed Al Orayed– I think the biggest reward here is not the cash award but the recognition of his dream and the doors that this recognition will open for him in the journey ahead. The company has provided submission forms at all of their Experience Shops around the Kingdom and applications are also received through the Zain Bahrain website. The company representatives also plan to distribute Zain Dream campaign boxes in charitable organizations to also make entry forms available from many other locations. Zain has set-aside a sum of money that they believe is sufficient to help 12 people achieve their dreams and each month the panel of independent judges will meet to agree which request best falls within the three key CSR areas and what they will do to help make that dream come true. The company stressed that this is not a 'lucky-draw' therefore advised that each request should be carefully presented, appropriate to their three key CSR areas and be able to demonstrate a real benefit as to how making that dream come true will benefit society or the individual. The selected 'dreamer' will be advised by telephone and details of the 'dream' will be published on www.zain.com. Unsuccessful applicants are welcome to re-submit entries each month. The next award will be announced in June for the May 2008 winner.
