Source:BahrainCSR

It was an exciting photo-finish similar to the F1 races that he loves when Zain Bahrain contacted Bahraini Hamed Al Mahari and announced that they would back his dream project – an e-magazine that will tap into young people's fascination with motor cars and harness the ease with which they navigate New Media. Al Mahari was present at the function in the Zain Experience Shop on Exhibition Road today and received his award in the presence of the Zain Dream Board of Trustees members, senior management from Zain (Bahrain), members of Bahrain's press corps and his friends and supporters. "People have begun to understand how to connect with the Zain Dream project – we are seeing a growing proportion of the Dream Projects touching the core values of Zain Bahrain's corporate social responsibility values," commented Zain Bahrain’s Corporate Communications Manager Samya Hussein, as she handed Al Mahari’s prize. The award ceremony which attracted media attention and public curiosity was marked by an atmosphere of friendliness and warmth which characterized the Zain Life values that the company promotes, added Hussein. "The Board of Trustees had no hesitation in picking out Mr. Al Mahari's e-magazine project as the winner for the May Zain Dream Campaign award because we were impressed with the amount of detailed preparation that he had put into the plan as well as the potential it holds," said Board President Dr. Fouad Shehab. He added, "We were also impressed with the project because it taps into some of the core objectives that Zain (Bahrain) espouses such as spreading technology awareness among young people and increasing the use of new technology and media to spread knowledge." Al Mahari expressed his delight at winning the award, saying it was the culmination of meticulous planning and preparation. "It is the first step towards realizing a long-cherished dream and I am very grateful to Zain (Bahrain) for implementing such an innovative project that cuts across all red tape to give ordinary people like me an opportunity to grab serious corporate attention," he said, "More than the cash award, I value the recognition this prize gives me and the tremendous encouragement it signifies." The "Dreams come true with Zain" campaign selects one winner each month for the whole of 2008 through a distinguished Board of Trustees to help realize a dream or project that complies with Zain (Bahrain)'s CSR objectives of education, youth empowerment and helping people with special needs. People can drop a brief summary of their dream into boxes provided for the purpose at Zain Experience Shops throughout the Kingdom of Bahrain or log on to www.bh.zain.com to submit applications.
