Zain Dream paints bright canvas for artist Zuhair Al Saeed

The life of an artist is full of dreams which find expression on canvas – and for Bahraini artist Zuhair Al Saeed, the dream was recently transformed into empowering reality, thanks to the Zain Dream project of telecoms giant Zain Bahrain. Zuhair Al Saeed, whose life revolves around art and who dreams of opening an art gallery, has been selected the August winner of the Zain Dream campaign that awards cash, recognition and support to one person each month. A regular since 1997 at many national and international exhibitions that showcase Bahraini artists, Zuhair wrote to Zain Bahrain that he is seeking help to set up an art gallery where he can display his paintings and "take Bahraini art to a different level altogether" by sharing that platform with fellow-artists. "Bahrain has a rich and lively cultural life and Bahraini artists have contributed greatly towards giving expression to the hopes, aspirations and dreams of the nation," said Dr. Fouad Shehab, President of the Zain Dreams judges' panel, "In selecting Zuhair Al Saeed, we are confident we are empowering a new generation of artists and opening new avenues for self-expression among the artistic community." Zain Bahrain General Manager Mohammed Zainalabedin, who presented the award to Zuhair in the presence of the Zain Dream campaign Board of Trustees and Zain Bahrain officials, added that the company was proud of the achievements of young Bahrainis like Zuhair. "Zain Bahrain is a young company with many dreams, just like Zuhair and the other winners of our Zain Dream project all these months," he said, "We believe in the power of dreaming and achieving and are confident that Zuhair will make his family, friends and nation proud." A beaming Zuhair Al Saeed accepted the award and said he did so on behalf of the art community in Bahrain. "It is my dream to create a platform for Bahraini artists and support young talent to find a focus – I thank Zain Bahrain for their confidence in me and for this great idea of the Zain Dream project that allows young Bahrainis with dreams to get such wonderful support," he said. A winner of many awards for his art, Zuhair has participated in many art exhibitions internationally, including in Zurich, Geneva, Egypt, UAE etc. Some of his paintings are displayed in HM The King's Royal Court, HH the Prime Minister's Royal Court, the UN head office in Geneva, the Bahrain National Museum, at the HSBC premises in Bahrain and the office of the Supreme Council for Women. The "Dreams Come True With Zain" campaign selects one winner each month through a distinguished Board of Trustees to help realize a dream or project that complies with Zain Bahrain's CSR objectives of education, youth empowerment and helping people with special needs.
