BisB Sponsors Medical Book Fair

issue no.10944 monday 10/3/2008 P6 Supported by Bahrain Islamic Bank, Alkalma-atayba Society has launched a book fair in a bid to pass medical references to students of colleges of medicines. The fair starts on Monday and continues to March 10. The main objective of the fair is to spreading the advantage of used books that have been collected by Alkalma-atayba Society to students through its Second national Event for collecting used books from readers who wish to extend knowledge to others. The event is part of an effort all through the Kingdom which has been carried out by the Society for several months under the patronage of H.H. Shaikh Abdulla bin Hamad Al-Khalifa the Governor of Southern Province. The initiative enabled the Society to successfully collecting 16 thousand publications with diversified titles including all walks of knowledge. The Society had earlier accomplished the topical classification process of collected books and transferred the scrape to waste paper circulation mills for the sake of maximum advantage of the campaign. This fair sets off the second phase whereby another fair will soon be launched for government schools to support schools and public libraries with adequate books and publications. On this occasion, the Head of Public Relation Committee of the Society, Mr. Abdul-Aziz Rashed Al-Sindi, extended gratefulness and appreciation to Mr. Khalid Mohammad Al_Khayat, BisB Senior Manager for PR and Media for supporting and sponsoring this book fair. He also expressed gratitude and appreciation to Mr. Hassan Ahmed Al-Hotti, Social Supervisor of Students Care at Gulf University who provided all facilities for organizing the fair and helped in distributing the books to the university students. It is worth mentioning that the committee for collecting books has set up arrangement to organize this fair next scheduled in concurrence with the International Book Day to be at Al-Eslah Society courtyard, Muharraq.
